Better Bisquick Biscuits

Welcome back to the All Things Southern Kitchen, friends. I’m going to show you how to make a good biscuit in a snap. Let’s say you don’t have the time or knowhow to make big fat cathead biscuits, but you might have some Bisquick in the pantry. Well, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with taking that route, but I can show you a little secret that will help you make Better Bisquick Biscuits. ( Betcha can’t say that three times fast!) Let me show you. It’s as easy as one, two, and three.

  • 2 cups Bisquick baking mix
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 small sour cream

We’re gonna melt a stick of margarine and combine it with a carton of sour cream and
two cups of Bisquick. That’s one. After we’ve stirred it up well we’ll drop big old spoonfuls on a greased cookie sheet and bake ‘em at 400 degrees for about ten minutes or until the tops are browned. That’s two. When they’re pretty and brown we’ll pull ‘em out and brush the tops with butter. And hat’s three. If you have some fresh rosemary to add to that butter, that’s all the better.     Please no laughing, but what size is a “small” sour cream? I live in Canada & our small container is about a 1/2 cup. I am a southern biscuit addict(thanks to a couple of NC family members). My hubby & I vacation annually south of the Mason-Dixon, but our trip isn’t until July this year.That’s such a looooonnnng time to wait to scour your grocery shelves to determine what size a small is! We’ve perfected Sweet Tea for the hubby and I am rationing my hush puppy mix like it’s the last package on earth(yes,I am a hush puppy addict too.),but I NEED good southern biscuits!

      isnt it ironic (wrong word…I know) that I am reading this exactly one yr later, almost to the minute??? Its 7:11 pm!! Anyway, I think she means 8 oz.
