I can’t tell you why some prayers are answered a

I can’t tell you why some prayers are answered and others aren’t. I’ve been on both sides of Heaven-beseeching-prayers that turned out vastly different for sincere Jesus loving followers. I can only tell you that 10 years ago, our family witnessed a miracle. ⁣
⁣
We celebrate it every time this most important day rolls around, with great sensitivity towards those with different outcomes. But we celebrate it, and we share it, because to not give praise where it is due is surely ingratitude of the highest order and we can’t have that. Not when God did this...⁣
⁣
It was a special day… a little blond headed child I’ve since named Weston the Wonder Boy was scheduled to have a surgery to open up the growth plates on his skull that had fused shut far too prematurely. Not having the surgery meant more than Weston living with an elongated head. It meant certain developmental problems from what would become the restricted growth of his brain. ⁣
⁣
Weston and his parents, my son and daughter in law, were in San Antonio that day, going through pre-op. The rest of us had descended on his sister’s house in Houston, TX, with plans to join them the following day for the scheduled surgery. Only we got a call from Weston’s parents that changed all of our worlds. A last minute exam by the surgeon had led him to X-ray Weston, one,more, time. ⁣
⁣
There are so many details but here’s what we need the world to know. Weston’s previously fused growth plate was now open! Surgery would not be necessary! We have before and after xrays— and grateful memories for a lifetime. ⁣
⁣
God didn’t change the shape of Weston’s head that fateful day. Weston would still need a helmet for that. We believe it was because the God glorifying helmet his parents had customized for Weston opened up many conversations in the following year, and brought Him much glory every time the story was retold. ⁣
⁣
And now you know why Weston is a Wonder Boy and a perfectly healthy young man who points us all to Jesus. ⁣
