On Funnin’ with Airport Security

Hello folks, let’s chat…Word has it that Nekkid News recently broke out in the Nashville airport. I was hard at work when news of this latest incident crossed my desk. I’d like to say I was able to ignore it, but this is me, y’all. In the interest of further investigation, I clicked on the headline. At that’s when I took one for the team.

Who knew the report was going to be accompanied by photographic evidence of Nekkid Man waiting calmly in line with his back to the camera? Despite the strategic blurring of a kind photo shopper, what I saw has proved hard to un-see. It was also informative. I have a brand new takeaway to add to my Nekkid News research.

As I have previously documented, people who are fond of being nekkid in public contend that it’s not about flaunting their bodies. They say they’re merely comfortable in their own skin. I once questioned that but I may be coming around as Nekkid Man was surprisingly comfortable for someone carrying a good bit of extra baggage on his immediate person. I’m gonna have to respect that. Just the thought of swimsuit season has me back on my treadmill and hoping for a revival of those lovely beach fashions from the late 1800’s. A belle can dream.

I reckon Nekkid Man would’ve breezed through security had he not been arrested for public indecency, but he was apprehended by stern-faced officers before he could produce his license, which might’ve been another kind of interesting. Ironically, for someone trying to assert his right to bare all, Nekkid Man went quite pleasantly, without a bit of protest. So, for me at least, the mystery continues.

I’ll just add it to one of my general mysteries about flying the friendly skies. Like, why security people persist in asking me that “Has anyone placed anything in your luggage without your knowledge?” question. Just once I’d like to say, “And if it was without my knowledge, how exactly would I know?”

I’m not, though. Airport folks aren’t known for their sense of humor. Just ask Nekkid Man.

Hugs,
Shellie
