No kin to me–

When I was a little girl growing up on Bull Run Road one of my favorite toys was a stuffed monkey with a yellow banana in his hand. I can STILL remember chewing on that plastic banana during stressful times, (most likely moments of torment inflicted by my two older sisters, regardless of what they tell ‘ya.)  I love monkeys, always have–  but I don’t claim any of them as kin.  Sure, there are some strange ones in our family, just like yours, but I firmly believe the whole bunch of us are descendents of Adam, not Cheetah. All that to set up this….

Passing by the primate area one day, a zoo attendant happens to notice a chimpanzee sitting on a rock with an open book in either hand, looking first at one and then at the other. Upon closer examination, he identifies the books: the Bible and Darwin’s Origin of Species. Curious, he asks the chimp, “What’s with the books?”

The chimp pauses and replies, “Aw, I’m just trying to decide whether I’m my brother’s keeper or my keeper’s brother.”

Someone just sent me the funny and I had to share. Hope it made you smile…

Hugs,
Shellie

I bought “Suck Your Stomach In and Put Some Color On” this summer on St. Simon Island. Absolutely love it, and have passed on your site and the book to sisters long removed from our home in the corner of North Mississippi. We must all have the same moma. Mine is now 97 and going strong…… recently told me when I complained that the waist on my clothes was tighter than ever before, and I weighed the same as always…..”You have never been middle aged before either!”

What was that monkey’s name? yellow front, red suspenders? Not George.
