Hungry is a Mighty Fine Sauce!

Okay, I can’t stand it. I’ve got to stop and tell y’all more about the project I’m working on called Hungry is a Mighty Fine Sauce. It’s a cookbook/memoir, scheduled for an October 2016 release by Barbour Publishing and I’m super excited about it for a host of reasons.

For starters, long-time readers have been asking me to compile a cookbook for more than a decade now. (If you’re in that number, thank you– and may I remind you of the old saying “better late than never”?) I’m delighted to let y’all know that you’ve been heard!

I’m also pumped about the project because the good folks at Barbour have given me a ton of creative license with the narrative that will surround 125 recipes and 80 full color photographs. By that I mean that I don’t have to separate my love of humor and storytelling from my passion for God in these pages. I’m free to add a story here and an inspirational message there. Barbour’s given me their blessing to bring my family, my faith, and my tried and true dishes to this project. That’s a vote of confidence that blesses this word-loving heart.

But, there’s more. Hungry is a Mighty Fine Sauce will also feature “Bonus dishes from Kitchen Belleicious!”  No doubt, y’all have heard me talk brag about my daughter, Jessica Maher, also know as Miss Kitchen Belleicious. I’m delighted to be able to share some of Jessica’s culinary creations, like her Homemade Oatmeal Pies.

It will be big fun for me to introduce my award-winning food blogging daughter to a larger audience. But, wait– there’s still more! My daughter-in-law, Carey Tomlinson, (many of you know her as Providence Carey) has accepted the challenge of doing my food photography. What with Jessica being miles and miles and miles away in Texas (and again, I’ve forgiven my darling son-in-law for moving her there), she’ll be supplying photographs for her particular dishes, but meanwhile, Carey is doing a fantastic job here of capturing mine.  Here’s a sneak peak of my Holiday Bread.

Bottom line, two of my most favorite young women in all the world are working with me on this project. Are you with me? Do you see it now? This is why my heart is singing about this one and why I can’t wait to share Hungry is a Mighty Fine Sauce with each of you.  It truly comes from our family to yours.

(Psst…We’re also doing some big scheming about the launch of this project. Can you say par-tay? Stand by for news!)

Hugs, Shellie
