Dreamy Fruit Salad

Welcome back to the kitchen, friends. We’re stirring up my Dreamy Fruit Salad. Around these parts this recipe is sure to show up everywhere from family picnics, to holiday meals, to dinner on the ground at church. It’s my Mama’s Dreamy Fruit Salad. You can serve it along with the meal, but it’ll work as a dessert, too. And IF you make it with low fat cream cheese and cool whip, you can have a sweet treat without totally splurging on calories, so let’s do this thing!

  • 1 (8 ounce pkg.) cream cheese
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 (11 ounce) can mandarin oranges
  • 1 (8 ounce) crushed pineapple
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 (8 ounce) cool whip
  • 1 (6 ounce) jar maraschino cherries

We’ll start by taking a nice sized mixing bowl and whipping together one eight ounce package of softened cream cheese with a ¼ cup of sugar. Once it’s smooth we’ll stir in a can of mandarin oranges with the juice drained off, one eight ounce can of crushed and drained pineapple, 1 cup of chopped pecans and one jar of drained maraschino cherries.

Last step, we’ll fold in one eight ounce tub of low fat cool whip and slide it in the fridge as it’s best served cold.Enjoy my Dreamy Fruit Salad, folks. It’s good eating from my kitchen to yours!

Hugs,
Shellie
