Chocolate Filled Strawberries in a Cloud

Welcome back to the All Things Southern kitchen, y’all. Do I ever have a treat for y’all today! It’s strawberry season in Louisiana and I want to show you a brand new way to serve ’em that will delight your taste buds! It’s always fun to just wash ’em and tear ’em up, but occasionally you want to do a little something different…Say you want a really pretty presentation for a shower, or you’re having company over, then you may want to serve my Chocolate Filled Strawberries in a Cloud!

  • Strawberries
  • Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Whipped Cream in a can
  • Cocoa Powder

You’ll want to start with some nice big strawberries. We’ll take a knife and slice off the bottom tips, about a 1/8 of an inch and they’ll stand up. Then we’ll slice off the top stem and core the berries. (Don’t worry, follow those steps and the core should pop out like magic.) We’ll stand our berries upright on a baking dish and stuff ’em with semi-sweet choco chips. Actually, you can use any of your favorite chocolate. It doesn’t have to be semi-sweet chips. After you stuff ’em, we’ll put ’em in a 350 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes. The chocolate will melt and the berries will begin baking, producing a nice syrup. To serve, we’ll transfer a few berries to each individual dessert plate, top with a dollop of cool whip, drizzle with that syrup, sprinkle with cocoa powder, and enjoy!

Hugs,
Shellie
